They married in 1947 and took over Enzian Guesthouse together. They worked hard and diligently to improve the business in circumstances of great hardship with plenty of commitment, dedication and farsightedness.
Along with operating the guesthouse, they also ran a farm. Together, they had two children; Maria was born in 1958 and Richard was born in 1954.
Liesl was the heart and the soul of the Hotel. She spent her entire life working hard and caring for everyone around her. Cooking was what she loved most and she was a master at it.
She was around the Hotel every day, looking after guests and staff. She did everything she could right to the end.

Her son Richard and his wife, Irene, operate the Hotel and have gone a long way to make guests feel at home, based on the philosophy of:
“We are proud of our past and look forward to the future!”
The passion for her work and the love for her home have been passed down to the next generation. Liesl’s grandchildren will carry on the family tradition of hospitality. She was a very remarkable woman and she will always be fondly remembered.
Thank you for everything and rest in peace, Liesl.
